"TOMORROW BELONGS TO ME" by ALAGBE O.stephen

"TOMORROW BELONGS TO ME" "TOMORROW BELONGS TO ME" I wasted all my night Like a deer without light, Living in a world full of fright While waiting for my time to be right. I thought I was right, That the future will be bright But i live like a night Moving without a might. Yes, my dream was clothed with sorrow Like I was falling from a Barrow. I thought of tomorrow But it's too narrow for me to follow. My night became joyless Like I was living in a wilderness. All I dreamt of was a greatness But my world remains moonless. With my heart turning sightless My soul crave for success. Tomorrow is near, Alas, with a teem of tears, Soon my world will be dear. Moving without fear, I believe tomorrow belongs to me. POISONOUS WORLD by Alagbe.O.steph

Image
POISONOUS WORLD Feeling the weight of the world on my shoulder, Alone, here in a cage, While am getting older; Day by day I wish for a serene slumber But I live without a shelter. How can I leave this eternal cage? While the dust on my head is counting my age Wishing I could turn over a new page For my world to become a peaceful stage Full and stuck with silage. Am like a handless angel, Unable to open the cage; While fighting hard like a mightless sage, Living in a world full of garbage. Oh! Was this my faith? Looking at the sky for hope like a poor geezer, While am getting colder. All I see was a stormy rain, Making me long for that world so dear Before getting an endless slumber. Alagbe.O.steph

The Great Powers and the "Eastern Question"

The Great Powers and the "Eastern Question" Two things happened during the nineteenth century to disturb the internal affairs of the Balkans. The first was the introduction of novel social and economic forces (see Lecture 9). The second was the increasing intervention of outside political forces. As the century advanced these developments merged, as international diplomacy and international commerce became linked in the thinking of Europe's Great Powers. In the 1800s this process was only beginning. Concerns about raw materials and world markets were only spreading slowly from England to the rest of Europe. International diplomacy still operated on the basis of simpler calculations. Wars were still fought about drawing borders and putting kings on thrones, without sophisticated consideration of economic elements or the impact of social change. Diplomacy was conducted from the top down, by social elites with little interest in social cha...

The Whole Word

THE WHOLE WORD I've lived on pages, My abode is in-between books. But I'm feeling like we are in a cage, beholding my colleagues with questionable looks. The world is full with iconic figures, The books; with unending stories, I wonder how I will buy with uncertain measures, The results parked many ambitions like damaged lorries. But happy is a man that reads and doesn't trust in them, Great is he that strive not to lead, Such shall write with golden inks. Let the dreamers dream, And the scholars toil, Only God gives flows to streams, Grace is the nutrients in the soil. Removing Christ from the picture, is adding crisis to the future. A student that builds confidence on self, Will soon fall like books off the shelf. © C. Timothy

A man called God

Poem: A man called God Poet: Obazie Sunday His ways seems blameless And his root seems traceless A man of his word That pricks the heart of men with a Mighty sword He is a man called God ‎His eyes shines like fireballs Elegantly dressed and raising applause He is said to never be in need Unlike man who fears to do great deeds He is a man called God We know him,yet we cant find  him. We seek him,yet we cant see him. He watches us,yet no one watches him. He never complains, yet we forsake him. He is a man called God Perfection lies in him, Credibility lies within him. Persians bows before him, And even lucifer hails Him. He is a man called God Accountable to no man, Yet he kills faster than a bowman . He fathers all, And simultaneously masters all. A man called God Omniscient in his dealings, Unbiased in his feelings. Rational in his healings, The one who supersedes bosses in the dailies. A man called God The one who knows the past, and so sure of the future. The one whose Hands are le...
